Dizzy Dogs Day

Well its come round to that time again! And I need to put pen to paper so that you know I don’t just sit on my bum all day, though I admit I honestly don’t think anybody really reads these, but ho-hum that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

Well I’m being pulled from pillar to post, and unfortunately have had quite a few let downs since my last update.

I am getting lots of enquiries about business stalls which is fantastic, and am sending out approximately 10, 20, sometimes 30 e-mails day either replying to enquiries or sending out information nilly willie, i.e. I have done a search of small businesses of some kind and found more people.

Rescues as you know we are now full, or even er overfull, I have one I am still waiting for but not including them we have 11 rescues all with no charge, so any more that come along there will be a charge of £10 per pitch.

Although the enquiries are fantastic receiving the actual booking form, which is regularly being sent out, is not coming back with payments or at all as yet. In actual fact I can understand this. Let’s face it £25, although it’s not a lot of money, I am sure the potential stallholders would rather have it in their account than Dizzys . However what this means is that we cannot proceed with things like insurance (so why don’t really want to pay for that about two months beforehand) we do need to buy other items like fluorescent jackets, special rope and sticky in the ground things, (sorry have no idea what they are called except pig sticks) for marking up the arenas. We also need bin bags practical things as well, I am sure, there are many many things I haven’t even thought of yet.

In the way of entertainment; I had arranged for a man to come along with a bungee trampoline, I had been chasing him up daily and weekly, only to discover that his is already booked out on 8th September.

He was also going to be bringing a bouncy castle with slide. The lady doing the ice cream van was also to be bringing a bouncy castle, but it appears that is already booked out. Not to mention my backup bouncy castle who it appears, has broken his shoulder and is going to be out of action for 6 to 8 months.

So I have got to go right back to the start with bouncey castles and rides etc.

Food wise: we have signed up the Phat Pasty company plus am talking to a chap about a jacket potato stall, (hopefully he is also bringing a bouncey slide)the burger van I had planned again is sadly already booked out, all being well we should have an ice cream van plus a traditional sweetie stall with candy floss.

We do have 2 kiddies rides coming which is great, though they have not paid the full amount they have given us a deposit.

Other forms of entertainment which I would like would be rides, sideshows, but also if possible, people in out the crowds, I don’t know, juggling just talking, magicians, pretending to sell puppies ideas would be fantastic, the problem with this is of course that they are not making money through a stall, hence the difficulty in finding someone. I will be looking into drama clubs next.

Show wise, the fantastic Emma from impawtant paws is doing the Fund dog show for us. All being well, I have the agility sorted out, but there is an issue at the moment with kennel cough so we are waiting for that clear forward a definite, quite what the flip. I’m going to do if they pull out. I don’t know but I’ll worry about that later.

Karen from the deaf dog network is doing fastest recall, and we have a practice ring set aside for those who want it.

We then have another arena, which will have, we hope other shows, this will include, Zumba, please don’t ask me what it is, as I have absolutely no idea, however, I am told and it’s fun, fun, fun, and which can include audience participation. We also have a little ballet show done by some fantastical toddlers.I also have a couple of people lined up to give talks, I had hoped that my vet would be able to attend however its simply too far for them though they are wanting to support us so again in talks about that.

Again, I would love to have some ideas about what you would like to see in the second arena.

Oh and we have the local community police coming, plus support from the Vets Kitchen though we wont actually know what or how large the support is till nearer the time.

Education wise: I could do with some help of someone who is good with their hands? Who could make me a couple of things?

I am also liaising with someone who has very kindly offered to put together a couple of films, one is to explain the Dizzys story i.e. What happened to him and why this began, hopefully the second will be far more in the way of educational what we hope to achieve except, let’s hope that continues and I don’t offend her with my nitpicking!

I have also done a couple of letters ie for donations, or to ask to stand and beg outside a shop etc I am going to add another page with these on so that if by any chance anyone has a moment that thay would like to use some initiative they can cut and paste them.

If I sound very monotone at the moment it’s because I am! To be brutally honest I’m losing my way a little bit, at the beginning it’s always easier isn’t it? More people jump on the bandwagon, more people want to do this or that, more people want to help, being keen is everyone’s middle name. However, now six months on, everyone is replacing their middle name with busy, everyone’s life has got to come first, which does tend to make me feel very lonely sometimes.

I also have to admit that for the next week, possibly two I will be slowing down a little. Some of you may be aware of what happened to me last year, some of you may not. Either way, I have to appear in court on Friday, 9 March. I suppose because I don’t think anybody is going to read this so I will admit that not only am I not looking forward to it, and in fact dreading it with every fibre of my being. I am not sleeping well and when I do sleep I am reliving the incident, because of this I will be taking some fantastic medication, now this, I really am looking forward too! That’s why I will be having time off. However, you probably all know me by now, so I won’t be too far away, the fantastic, amazing, stunning, darling duo aka Angela and Lynn will be in charge, as I said to someone,

may God have mercy on your soul!
